A Subject I've Enjoyed Studying This Semester
This semester has been really hard but at the same time very interesting. I have learned a lot and I like many subjects, but the funniest subject and the one I have enjoyed the most was; "Investigación del Entorno" (Environment Research).
In the subject, we focus in the legal regulations about urbanism, things for example: "Plan Regulador" or "Ordenanza General de Urbanismo y Construcciones (OGUC)", they are like the "constitution for an architect". These are important concepts that we will use when we enter the world of work.
But we didn't see the topic in a "boring way", with the teacher we traveled to a building close to FAU and we analyzed it. With questions like: why does the building have that sale price? or does it comply with the regulations?
I have to mention that all credits go to the teacher, Diego Vallejos is his name. Well, Diego has a special way to teach, a way that works for me and what made me like his classes more than others. He likes the conversation in his classes and he tries to create a discussion between us for some topic. His classes were very varied; one day we saw the news and we talked about it, the next class we discussed a project, the next we walked around the FAU, and this continued throughout the semester.
It was obvious that Diego Vallejos gave it a lot of importance that we could learn the topic and his subject was "easy" to study for this. He made me see the meaning of the subject and what it involves in my future life. I only expect that for the next semester I can be his student again or at least meet a teacher with the same characteristics.
Teachers like that are always the best, the methodologies about talking, discussing and making field visits are very good for learning :).
ReplyDelete"Investigación del entorno" is a very good subject, I'm not with you, but my teacher make us go out and walk and see with diferent eyes the city, it's a thousand times better go and see in person de places.
ReplyDeleteI had history with Vallejos!! This semester I had signed up for his research class, but unfortunately I didn't enter 😔
ReplyDeletethe teacher are fundamentally for learning, when we remember them as you mentioned in the blog, i feel that they really left a mark of learning on us :)
ReplyDeleteHow great that a teacher is so dynamic and has varied ways of approaching a class, surely they are very entertaining
ReplyDeleteHi! Wow, I had "Investigación del Entorno" this semester too, but we didn´t see nothing like that. I had History with Diego Vallejos last semester and I think that is a really good teacher, and have an interesting way to teach.
ReplyDeleteYour teacher sounds really dynamic, I think it's one of the most important things a teacher HAVE to teach, that lets the student be more creative and give a broader scope to explore.
